Jaw surgery advice any expert opinions?!

Question: Jaw surgery advice any expert opinions!?
just had jaw surgery on my lower jaw 2 weeks ago I was in heavy elastics that clamped my teeth together completely was very frustrating, now today I went back in and they gave me less elastics that are more flexible told me I could start chewing softer foods and that I was having a speedy recovery so far, they never mentioned how long I will need to wear these new elastics!. I can take them off and put them back on and I throw them out every morning!. Is there a set period of time I am to use these elastics!? I only have a limited supply since I use 3 a dayWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
The Oral Surgeon should have setup a post-operative followup visit to check if your jaw is healing properly and your stitches dissolved okay!.

You need call your doctor and schedule an appointment and asked to be seen in three weeks to five weeks!. I've been through multiple surgeries at U of M hospital in my life and I've always had post-op return visits to make sure everything is healed up properly

If you were treated for TMJ!. I would guess that you need those straps for 4 weeks or more to give your jaw a chance to heal!. if you have dissolvable stitches!. Those will go away by themselves over a couple weeks or less!. if you can tolerate mouthwash and alcohol with no significant pain!. Go ahead and try it
