Question: Terrible pain after wisdom tooth extraction!?
I got my lower left wisdom tooth pulled yesterday morning!. The dentist gave me no happy gas nor was I put under!. They numbed it, and she also gave me no prescriptions!. She told me to take 800 mg motrin, which i cannot find in stores, and I prefer not to take three 200 pills every four hours, because that doesn't seem right, considering the package tells you not to take more than six pills a day!.
I am in excruciating pain after about an hour of any over-the-counter painkiller!.
I also had an infection in the tooth before the extraction, took some penicillin, and that pain stopped, however, there was still some infection once the tooth was taken out!.
Should I be taking stronger pain medication/antibiotics!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Usually dentists do prescribe stronger pain meds, actually!. I would call his emergency number and tell him that you're in unbearable pain!. Take care!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
i'd see if they or your doctor can give you a pain killer!. i just had a tooth pulled today because it cracked when i ate a pork chop!. it took 1/2 hour of pulling and chiseling it!. anyway, i'm on viciden anyway for a illness and my mouth isn't all that sore!. i feel for youWww@Answer-Health@Com
it could be a dry socket, gargle with bactidol !. do not try self medication!.go back to your dentist tell him about the post operative complications your experiencing!.also, hot compress will help you reduce the inflamationWww@Answer-Health@Com
do you live in a third world country!?!? i got hydros and everyone i know did!. you cant stand the pain without them!. that sucks!. you may have dry socket too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
