My jaw problem?? and surgery...?!

Question: My jaw problem!?!? and surgery!.!.!.!?

Terrible picture I know!. But this is my mouth (obviously) and I have a problem with my jaw that I was born with and my jaw slowly grows apart like scissors!. As you can see, my there is a gap between my jaws and that is as far as I can close them!. I'm planning on having surgury when i'm around 18 or 19 where they go in and break my jaw from the inside and rewire it and all that jazz!.

I was wondering if you know the name of this problem
and
if you or anyone you know has ever had this and had surgury, how did it go!? How much do you change!? And does it hurt!? Thanks!.!.Im soo worried!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hey love, I had a similar problem but it was diagnosed when I was very young, and had an expander and close to 8 years of braces to fix it!.

Yes, your back teeth will wear down and this will become a problem!. I had it happen to my front teeth, but luckily they were just my baby teeth!. So you will want to get this treated ASAP!.

My friend recently had the jaw surgery, but thanks to a new technique she didn't have to have her jaw wired shut!. She did experience some discomfort but nowhere near as much as she expected!.

It changed the whole construction of her face (for the better) and her teeth and jaw are perfect after 6 months!. The only damage she carries from this is that she can no longer drink apple juice after having way too much in hospital haha!

I strongly recommend that you get this fixed, best of luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

ok 1st I didnt look at your photo!. 2nd when I was 16 I had surgury for a underbite, they broke my jaw and widen it and wired it shut for 6 weeks!. It was painful but they give you the meds needed, I lost way to much weight, got down to less than 89lbs!. I would gladly talk to you by email about this, It is scary but worth it all!. Please if you have any questions!. My yahoo id is tkclark71Www@Answer-Health@Com
