Yes, I was prescribed to take this med because I'm in a lot of pain!. I've been taking the recommended dose of 1-2 every 6 hours but its not helping whatsoever!. As I college student I've been getting very annoyed with not being able to drink with my friends so I tried to not take the codeine today so I could safely have a drink tonight!. However the pain got so bad I gave up and in a fit of what I guess was desperation and frustration, I popped 4 Tylenol 3 with codeine!. I was reading some other questions and freaked myself out because I see it causes some people to od on just 2 or 3, which I found weird!. Since I've been ok with 2 I don't think itll be bad, I even took 3 once and was ok!. Will I be fine!? I know i shouldn't take more than the recommended dose yada, yada I just need some health advice from this point on please!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Tylenol 3 is a pretty low dose medication!. Four was probably too many to take at once but you will probably be OK!. You may get some nausea and light headed but that is about it!. I have worked with dentist who have told patients they can take up to 3 Darvocet at once!. Those are strong than Tylenol 3!. From now on I would recommend you take 2 every 4-6 hours!. Four if you feel like it is wearing off quickly!. Otherwise you can call your dentist (who usually is on call or has someone on call for him) and tell him that the medication is not working for you and you need something stonger and possibly some antibiotics!. Sounds like you have an abcessed tooth or an impacted wisdom tooth!. Another suggestion!.!.!.go to the drug store and get some oral gel with benzocaine!.!.!.benzocaine being the key word here as it is an anesthetic agent!. switch instead to 3-4 Advil every 4-6 hours!. It's much more effective for pain control and you won't overdose on it!.

You should be o!.k!., other than maybe getting sleepy!. If you start to get sick, take a dramamine and it will coat your stomach so that you will not get sick!. It is NOT a good habit to take more than the doctor prescibed to you!. Be careful and don't do that again!. You should have asked Before you took them, not after!. Pretty soon you will say, that you were fine with four and all of a sudden, your are dowing 5 and 6!. Then you may not be around to get on Yahoo Answers to ask questions after the fact!.
