Curiouse what'd in the gauze in my dry socket.?!

Question: Curiouse what'd in the gauze in my dry socket!.!?
ok, here's the long version!. you can skip this paragraph for a summary!.!.!. on monday i had 2 teethe pulled, on friday i thought there was a piece of the tooth left in one and it turned out to be a dry socket!. the dentist put some gauze with nasty stuff in there, and said it needs to be there for 3 days!. what i'm wondering is what chemicals are in the gauze and how safe hey are to swallow!. when he was doing it i wasn't really paying attention (that's how i get through dental appointments) but i heard something about stuff to keep it dry and some cleaning stuff (i assume to prevent infection on the cleaning stuff)!. so far it's the next day and this gauze is driving me nuts!. it tastes horrid, makes my saliva like ooze, dries out my mouth and when swallowed makes my throat really dry!. i'm not sure how safe it is to swallow but my mouth has always salivated a lot but of course the dentist told me not to spit while the gauze is there because it can make the gauze come out!. on the good side of things i seem to have caught it before it started hurting, from what i've read these can be pretty painful!.

short version: wondering what's in the gauze for my dry socket and if it's safe to swallow the juices that come out of it, it makes my saliva thick and my mouth dry!.!.!.

also, does anyone have any idea how long it generally can take for this to heal!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Eugenyl is what they soak the gauze in!. It is oil of cloves!. Yes it is safe to swallow it!. It just doesn't taste too good and may cause an upset stomach, but it isn't dangerous (unless you have an allergy to cloves)!.

It usually takes a couple of weeks for it to fill in!. You will go back a few times and they will take out the gauze and put in a shorter piece each time!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
