Getting braces off soon...what retainer?!
Question: Getting braces off soon!.!.!.what retainer!?
I was wondering which retainer I should get since my braces are coming off in the next four week time period!. basically, my friends who got the clear "invisalign" (essix) type retainer say that I should I get the Hawley ( wire one), which is what I want!. Is one better than the other!? Which one do you think I should get!? Thanks!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well I also have a plastic retainer and my teeth have moved tons!. The only upside to a plastic one is that they are less noticeable and you can put bleach in them!. But if I could chose now, I would pick the metal one because you don't want your teeth to move after you spent a lot of money to get them straight!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Best person to answer this question is your orthodontist!. He/she is the one that worked with you through the entire orthodontic process and would be best qualified to answer your question based on your specific case!. A Hawley retainer in one that fits into the palate but you will see the metal wire!. You can get the acrylic palate in any color you wish basically!. Including two or three colors like Red, White and Blue!. I do not know much about the invisalign retainers and I am not sure if they are suitable for your case if you wore traditional braces!. So ask your orthodontist or their assistant!. You have invested a lot of money into your teeth and you want to do what the orthodontist recommends that way if something comes up later you won't feel odd about not following his/her initial instructions!.
