Itchy gums during pregnancy?!
Question: Itchy gums during pregnancy!?
Has anyone had itchy sore gums during their pregnancy!? I've done some reading up on itchy gums and it could lead to periodontal disease (where the gums dissolve and teeth come loose!)!. This has really freaked me out!.!. I guess I shouldn't get ahead of myself, so if you've experienced this please let me know so I can put my mind at ease!. Seeing a dentist on the 22nd of this month anyway, but was wondering if anyone else had experienced this!? I've had endless teeth/gum troubles throughout this pregnancy! So frustrating!. regarding your question, you should know that pregnancy DOES NOT cause any kind of periodontal diseases per se!. Is it the speed and the severity of the disease which could be affected!. Thus, if you are able to maintain your teeth and gum "plaque free" during the pregnancy, you will be just fine and enjoy your meals!.
On the other hand, if there is some plaque on your teeth or Calculus "hard deposits on the surfaces of your teeth", let your dentist make a professional cleaning and you will be fine!
