They can do a local anesthetic directly to the tooth!. They will use novocain or marcaine injection to numb your tooth!. Local injection will be better alternative since you are pregnant!. Try not to be nervous before the procedure!. It does make a difference how you feel before the procedure

The best way to relax before you get your tooth extracted!. When you lay down on the chair for your extraction Just close your eyes, take a deep breathe and imagine yourself on a paradise beach in Hawaii with a Martini in hand or sitting on the sunny beach with the bright blue ocean waters!.

After the injection takes effect!. You should not feel any pain at all!. You will feel pressure during the extraction!. Hope this helps you!. Good luck Www@Answer-Health@Com

They probably can't give you anything to keep you "calm!." However, she should be able to give you shots in your gums so you don't feel so much!. I just had one pulled (with no gas - just shots) and didn't feel a thing except a pinching sensation when my dentist gave me the shots!. Also, it is not likely your dentist will give you any prescription pain pills to take after the extraction since you are pregnant!. You will probably have to tough it out on tylenol or ibuprofen!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had a wisdom tooth pulled when I was pregnant, and they didn't give me any gas (I didn't want it anyway)!. They can only give you shots in the gums, and my dentist reassured me that the shots would not affect my baby at all!. As long as you make sure you are completely numb before they pull the tooth, you won't feel anything except for pressure!. You'll be fine, you don't need the gas- especially being pregnant!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

My doctor was actually considering giving me gas to get my IV in when I give birth b/c I have a phobia of needles!. I wont even be able to have an epidural so gas was something we were discussing as an alternative to alteast keep me calm (of course it wont take the pain away) Ask your doctor and also ask your dentist!. Your doctor will know more about what you can and cant have!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
