Question: How do I loosen up Elastic Band (braces)!?
I got braces and i have to wear a small rubber band from top to bottom to pull down my tooth!. It is tight and it hurt very bad! HELP!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, the more you open and close your mouth (to talk, etc) the looser the elastics will become!. However, this does eliminate the whole purpose of getting the elastics in the first place!. Your orthodontist must have advised you to change the elastics around two to four times a day to ensure the elastics retain a tight hold!. The elastic bands are used to correct the bite!.
It's supposed to be tight! But if you wear them properly now, you won't have to wear them for long!. If it's causing you too much discomfort, you could always take an ibuprofen (motrin, advil) to help with it!.
