Problems with extraction of my wisdom teeth?!

Question: Problems with extraction of my wisdom teeth!?
So I got 2 wisdom teeth out last Friday!. They were fully impacted so they needed to be cut out!. The dentist then stitched up the holes!. Can you get dry socket if they are stitched up!? My mouth is really sore on one side!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
You can get dry sockets even if sutured!.
The risk factors for dry sockets are:
1!. smoking
2!. difficult extractions (as in cut out)
3!. lower extractions, esp molars
4!. the contraceptive Pill
Normally the pain for the first 2-3 days post-op is manageable!. If dry sockets occur, they will usually start 3rd day post-op with great pain, foul taste, putrid breath!. Painkillers are normally ineffective!. If you can put up with it, it will eventually heal on its own, but most people need to go back to the dentist for a sedative dressing!. I prefer to use zinc oxide/eugenol!.
It would seem you have passed the danger period!. Lucky you!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hello!.!.!.The general rule is that when sutures are used to close an extraction site, the blood clot that forms inside the empty socket is far less likely to be lost and cause a dry socket!.!.!.!.You could however put that issue in jeopardy by drinking "Hot" to very warm fluids!.!.!.!.!.Doing that not only puts the clot at risk, it will cause the area tissue to gorge with blood and cause unnecessary pain!.!.Use cold packs to hold down the swelling and rinse "gently" every three to four hours with a 10% salt to water solution!.!.!.Once you rinse do not eat or drink anything else for at least 20 minutes!.!. If you explicitly follow the post-extraction instructions you were given you should do well and be out of pain within 24 to 36 hours!.!.!.Good luck and I wish you well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, you can get a dry socket sutured or not!. The way to tell is this: you start to feel better in the surgical site and then the pain begins to worsen and you need to start taking pain meds!. frequently again!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
