You will have to get on antibiotics beforehand!. I know this is not what you want to hear but that is the way they do things!. I am currently on antibiotics and still have pain and swelling in my jawline and face!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hello!.!.As a rule the DDS will put you on antibiotic ten day's prior to doing any dental procedure that causes blood to flow, even a little bit!. The reason is that if you happened to be a person with a serious cardiac, lung or kidney problem and the abscess infectious material gets into the blood stream, it will go directly to the area with problems and if that happened to be your heart, you could suffer a serious risk and even death!.!.!.If you are now in good health and have no issues as I mentioned, it's not likely you are at any risk!.!.!.If you do have an issue you need to talk to your MD before you go to the DDS!.!.!.Good luck and I wish you well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've just had root canal for the same problem!. I'm surprised your dentist didn't book you in immediately for either root canal or the extraction!. You DO need anti biotics - remind your dentist or better still, find a better one, 'cause yours SHOULD have put you on them the minute he realised you had an abscess!.

One word of caution: after an extraction, many people develop a 'dry socket' - the pain is really, really bad!. So mention this to your dentist and get some advice!. Trust me, I speak from personal experience!Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you have an tooth infection!. then you must take antibiotics to clear the infection before you get your tooth removed otherwise you will have terrible pain after extraction!. My suggestion is to get rid of the pain(find out the cause of ur pain first) before the tooth removal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You will need antibiotics in your system before the extraction!. That doesn't mean that you will need the whole course!. Call to get the prescription started today and there is a chance that you will still be able to get it out tomorrow!. Hurry!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
