Question: Cost of a tooth cleaning!? !?
I'm in college out-of-state and want to go get my teeth cleaned by a local dentist, rather than flying home!. My insurance doesn't cover me in this state so I'm just wondering how much it typically costs for a cleaning!? Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It totally depends on what state you're in! the Northeast is probably the most expensive, followed by West Coast!. Deep South is least expensive and Midwest is!.!.!.well!.!.!.in the middle!
Anyway, in New Hampshire, you'll pay maybe $65-75 for a cleaning!. However, be sure you know what you're in for, since usually they'll want to do an exam (maybe $35 for a "recall" but maybe $80 or so for a new patient exam) and x-rays ($35-85ish!.!.!. dep!. on how many!.)
You need to call each office to ask, and also ask if they'll let you order "a la carte," that is JUST a cleaning; many places don't want you to come in unless the doctor sees you, which will cost you money!.
This isn't necessarily cuz dentists are greedy (tho' some are) but it's a big liability issue!.

Or you can visit a dental college or dental hygiene college and get your teeth cleaned there for much less but it takes a few hours!.
