The British and their Teeth?!

Question: The British and their Teeth!?
I just got back from a trip to England!. I was shocked by th number of people, young ones at that, missing teeth!. As for the older ones, 60s and above, forget it!. What is the reason for that!? It takes a long time of teeth decaying with no care given to them, before a tooth is extracted!. Is dentistry not included in your famous socialised medicine!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

For f*cks sake!. The amount of american people coming on to yahoo answers asking the same question just astonishes me!. A piece of advice: use the bloody search function before you ask a question that has been asked so many times before!.

You have met some people who have missing teeth in their 30s!. Using this, you are deeming the people of *whole* country of having missing teeth!. Ever heard of the phrase "never judge a book by its cover"!? As for your statement " Finally, one can argue that any place outside London is a shithole" really p*sses me off and I find it (and I'm sure a lot of other people will) rather quite rude!. That means I can judge the entire USA of being fat and thick (yourself being a prime example of being the latter)!.

The fact is that American citizens associate crooked teeth as signs of oneself not caring about his/her teeth and hygiene!. This is because of all those Hollywood movies starring all those actors having perfect flawless teeth (courtesy of expensive dental whitening procedures etc!.) which are being watched by ignorant fools such as yourself!.

You have only visited a small fraction of a country yet you are deeming the whole country to not care about hygiene!. I find that quite rude and insulting!.

Yes it is included, and I live in England in Britain and don't know anyone with teeth missing, I think you just noticed the minority of people who did have missing teeth compared to the majority of people with good teeth!.

It's weird because whenever I watch American TV shows I see lots of missing teeth too but I'm pretty sure that they are only a minority too!.

It doesn't matter what country you go to, teeth hygiene depends entirely on the person, not just their health services!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i'm British and i have all my teeth, no fillings and have never needed braces and even if i ever did i wouldn't need to pay for it, and the people i have ever seen missing teeth are ederly, or not on the national health service, and yes dentistry is included in our NHS, but most people tend to go for private, you must've gone to some shithole like whitechapel, where you can't even find a british person, remember that our "young ones" are a load of chavs that like smashing the teeth out of each other,

BTW is Intelligence not included in YOUR so called education,Www@Answer-Health@Com

The reason peoples teeth are not as nice here on average, and its not just the average member of public, just look at the people in politics and on tv shows, even the royal family don't have perfect teeth,

its not as forced upon people to have nice teeth , in america parents will save for their childrens teeth as there isn't a national health service to cover these costs, in Britan there is a nation health service untill a child reaches 18, so parents don't save for this kinda of thing as they qualify for it free, but i think parents should definatly try to save for their childrens teeth because ONE, its extremely difficult to get on a NHS dentist register, TWO, when you are on a register its hard to get an appointment THREE, when you actually get an appointment while your under 18 they brush problems off will not treat hardly anything unless its really really bad, thorefore leaving the problems to only get worse until your older and have to pay for it!. like if your teeth are sticking out in every direction your still not likely to qualify to have braces because its not classed as a problem to your health, because the NHS want to pay for as little as possible and because people don't have savings for this type of thing so usually can't afford to go private!.

So the best thing people can really do is start saving for these kinds of things while their kids are young and don't rely on the NHS to cover dental cost

and anyway, britian has people flooding in from really poor places everyday and i've noticed half their teeth are missing and look like they've never seen looked at a toothbrush before!. Most people cannot even speak a word of english (shouldn't it be stanard immagration requirements that they can speak some!?) i highly doubt there is even half the population that is even british anymoreWww@Answer-Health@Com

Hi I don't know where you came to in the UK, but I'm shocked at your comments I'm in my early 40's & the only missing teeth i've got are 2 which were taken out for my braces and my friends and family have got no missing teeth from decay!. In fact a lot of my friends have perfect teeth!.
If you look on the MSN group site http://groups!.msn!.com/DenturesANewSmile you can see that there are lots of Americans in there 20's and 30's who have lost lots of their teeth and have dentures, some of then have lost all of their teeth and have got a full set of dentures!. There are even more who are 40 and over!.

Maybe if you do come back to the UK I suggest you travel further north to see what a beautiful country this is!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

because our chocolate is 5000 times better than american chocolate, so we eat it more, and our "soda" has caffine in it meaning it's addictive so we drink more!.

also, the dental care is free, to an extent, so when we have a sore tooth, it can get pooled whereas its expensive in america, so u have to deal with ur snaggle tooth lol!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Why would you walk around looking at peoples teeth!?!? Its not common to see people with missing teeth!. It can be very expensive as a cheackup costs over
