Question: I've heard root canals are extremely painful!. true or not!?
I'm 16 yrs old and im getting a root canal in about 2 weeks or so!. im scared out of my mind, like REALLLLYYYYY scared and not looking forward for it at allll!. i would just like to hear from people that have had them!. Honest answers :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't worry at all! The only thing that could possibly hurt a bit is when the Dr!. gives you a shot of Lidocaine to numb the tooth!.Most dentists use a topical anesthetic to numb the gum before even given you the shot!. Chances are you won't even feel the needle!. You will be numb during the whole procedure!. If for some reason you are not numb, just raise your hand and tell the dentist and he may give you more anesthesia!. Please don't worry or panic about it, you'll do fine, you'll see!. A lot of people have misconceptions about Root canals!. Its sounds A LOT scarier than what it is!. The whole procedure should take about an hour, sometimes 2 1hour appointments!. i remember i was just like you! i was in sixth grade, about twelve, and i was scared to death of the root canal, but they numb your mouth so you don't feel anything!. the worst part for me was the part where they put this big black block thing in your mouth and you have to sit there for ten minutes at then end!.!.!.otherwise no pain at all (:

I had a root canal many years ago, it was the most painful thing I've ever experienced but I think that was more down to an incompetent dentist as he didn't administer the local anaesthetic properly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Yeah it'll be uncomfortable, and of course you're not looking forward to it!. but look at it this way!.!.!. you get to use laughing gas!.!. which is really fun!. haha :)

I have had 4 the first one was real real bad but that was years ago!.!.the last 3 were fine they have come along way in recent years!.!.you wont feel anything until after it is done then you will be sore!.!.!.!.!.!. good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
