Could I invent a super hard covering for teeth?!


Question: Could I invent a super hard covering for teeth!?
Is it viable!?

Some sort of super hard but very thin clear layer that would prevent tooth decay, whitening etc!.

Impossible!? Some reason it wouldn't work!? Developing it now!? Just haven't found the right ingredients!?

It would be a great invention but I don't see it as a possibility!. What ever material you use would have to adhere to the teeth in such a way so they are air and moisture proof and also could not have a margin for bacteria to gather at below the tissue where the covering and the natural tooth or root meet!. It would need to be cemented to the teeth such as crowns are!. Also, it would need to cover a few millimeters of the root under the tissue to protect this area from decay and do so without causing any irritation the tissue which might cause tissue recession!. Maybe do some research into crowns; full porcelain, acrylic temporaries!. Good luck, I hope you succeed with your invention since it would be a break through in dental care and the prevention of tooth decay and discoloration!
