Question: Will the fact that I smoke be obvious to my Dentist!?
I have two appointments next week, and i'm wondering if he'll say something in front of my mum (who knows) and my little sister (who doesn't) about it!.
Also i'm having an operation to rearrange my jaw, will me being a smoker affect their judgement of whether to do the operation!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

They will be able to tell you smoke from the staining on your teeth due to the nicotine but it will not affect their judgement of whether to do the operation or not although they may suggest you do not smoke during the healing process as it could cause infection!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
It would be unlikely that he would not smell it!. Depending on how much you smoke and for how long, there will also be typical smokers tarter on the teeth and there may be leukoplakia, the white pre-cancerous changes in the mucosa of the cheeks!.

It should be pretty obvoius, especially to your dentist, since smokers usually have yellowed teeth and of course smokers breath, unless perhaps you use mouthwash to get rid of the smell, and whitening toothpaste!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
i smoked for years without my mum knowing and i went to the dentist and he didnt have a clue either!. if you do have staining on your teeth, the dentist doesnt no for sure that its nicotine, it could be coffee!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
