Answers:
There are 2 ways of telling upper teeth from lower teeth:
1!. Look at the curvature of the plane of the biting surfaces!. If you have the radiograph up the right way, then the biting plane will curve slightly upwards;
2!. Look at the root shapes of the molars - upper molars have 3 roots that overlap each other, lower molars also have 3 roots, but 2 of them are in line so it looks as if they only have 2 distinct roots!.
As you get practised, you will also see other slight clues in the shapes of other teeth!.
As for left/right, all radiographs have some marking (like the letter "a") on them to help you distinguish which is left or right!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You won't really be able to tell from individual films of a single tooth whether it's left or right!.
But on an OPG it's obvious!.(Ortho pantomo gram)
Have you seen one !?Www@Answer-Health@Com
