Answers:
If you have strep the white spots will be on the back of the throat not the tongue!. Most likely what you are seeing on the back of the tongue are called "Circumvallate Papillae"!. Everyone has them, ranging in size and amount!. They have always been there, but you probably just noticed them since you where sticking out your tongue checking things out in the mirror, which you probably don't always do (most people don't!. lol)

Here are pics (blue arrows pointing to what I am thinking you are noticing) http://www!.dentalmedsoft!.com/OralPathDem!.!.!.

The dangly thing in your throat is your Uvula and can get swollen when sick or when it has been traumatized by food or vomiting (stomach acids)!. So don't worry about that!.
Sounds like your just getting over being sick!. Hang in there!

Without seeing them it is a little hard to know what you might be seeing!. It sounds like the bumps are most likely the beginning of canker sores!. They start out as a whitish spot and if they get worse they get a crater in the center and get more and more sore!. I've gotten a lot of those in my life, usually when I'm worn down or sick!. What I do to treat them is take some L-Lysine supplements, follow the instructions on the bottle!. I also put Alum on them to encourage them to heal!. This can really hurt but it helps!. Alum can be bought at the grocery store with the spices!. It looks a lot like salt!. What I do is I use a tissue or something to dry the area, then holding my cheek away from the area if necessary, keep the area dry!. I get the tip of my finger damp and touch it in the Alum to get some on my finger and then put it on the canker sore!. Leave the Alum on as long as you can and do your best to keep Saliva away from the area, then rinse your mouth!. The Alum will leave your mouth feeling dry!. You can drink and everything like normal now!. I also like Orajel product for cankers that numb the sore and leaves a coating over the sore to help it heal!. When they are bad ones I use that for comfort when eating!.

It is also possible that you have a little bit of an oral yeast infection!. This will happen when the good bacteria that is normally in your mouth to control yeast overgrowth and whatnot is lacking and the yeast is allowed to grow!. This is more unlikely, but possible!. If you can rub off the white spots this might be what it is!. If that is the case you should go see your doctor to see what he/she thinks it is!. If it is yeast, he may give you some medication!. You should also take probiotics!. They make ones that dissolve in your mouth to help the good flora (good bacteria) to return to good levels in your mouth!. You should take probiotics for a while even if the problem goes away!.

Your "dangly thing" can get swollen when you have a sore throat!. You may have an infection!. Infections can show up as whitish spots!. In which case you should see your doctor and if he/she prescribes you antibiotics, you should take probiotics internally for a month or more past when you are done your antibiotics!. This is always a good idea when on antibiotics because the antibiotics will not only kill the bad bacteria causing the infection it will kill the good bacteria in your digestive system that keeps everything in balance!.

I hope this helps and that you get feeling better soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
