I have braces!.!.!.had them for three years and have another to go actually! And before that I had a spacer for 6 months!. Honestly, it does hurt for the first while, but it always goes away, and its not THAT bad!. Its different for everyone because someone might have a higher pain tolerance than someone else and handle it better, but its not something you need to stress over!. I lived through it, and once its over and done with you're going to be thanking god you had braces because people will always be complimenting you on your beautiful smile!
So yes, it does hurt to begin with, but its not too bad and it WILL go away! And if it does give you some trouble, ice it ;-)
Good luck, and no worries!Www@Answer-Health@Com

the reason they hurt like hell is cause they physically move your teeth
around by pushing them in a direction they dont want to go!.!.
!.
if you've ever had a toothache, where you move that tooth, or put
pressure on it, and it hurts!.!.!.
!.
its pretty much like that, but with all of your teeth at once,,
(when u get all the braces in)
!.
with spacers, its just the back teeth that they
put the spacers in between that hurt like hell!.!.
but yea,, i had braces, and i needa get em back in
(dont ask long story!. lol)
and they got VERY sensetive to any pressure!.!.
it hurt like hell when it tried to eat anything tough, or
put any pressure what so ever on themWww@Answer-Health@Com

Spacers hurt like a b@tch!. I was really uncomfortable and had a hard time chewing food!. After a week it didn't hurt as bad but it was annoying!. I had mine in for 2 weeks!. uggh

Braces hurt like a mo fo for me!. The morning after is the worse for me!. After a week it gets better but by the time you know it, it is time to go in again!. Then the vicious cycle starts again!.

good luck and you will be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

when you first get braces, your teeth are gonna hurt like hell, like after a while, you get used to the pain, but when you touch them or shut your mout, it hurts, alot!.!.!. but thats the first few days, after that then it goes down, but ussually fo the first few visits, where they tighten them, it will hurt again, though never as much as the first time!.!.!. and you might cut your mouth sometimes!.!.!. but i dont know about spacersWww@Answer-Health@Com

Pretty much because your teeth are being forced to move around in your mouth!. Not fun at all!
The worst is the week after you get them put on!. I could barely eat anything!. But some days are better than others!.
You just need to take a lot of Advil or ibuprofen!.

But really, it's so worth it in the end!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, they hurt!. Spacers were the worst part for me because it was the first time my teeth had ever moved like that!. Braces hurt too, for a few weeks, and then after every adjustment!.

It was all worth it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Spacers can sometimes dig into your gums which can cause bleeding or swelling!. Braces usually only cause discomfort shortly after they've been tightened!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They're really not that bad!. Just maintain them well and have a good supply of wax (available from the orthodontist)Www@Answer-Health@Com
