What can you eat and can't eat with fixed braces?!

Question: What can you eat and can't eat with fixed braces!?
Hi,

I have had braces from Friday!.

I am getting used to it but I still want to know what I can and cannot eat!.

I am avoiding hard things, like swets, well, I know all that so please DON'T repeat!.

Basically,

I just want to know a few things about fixed braces!.

1) What can I eat and can't eat!?
2) Is it okay to eat chocolate desert and caramel desert, etc!?
3) How to brush my teeth!?

I have seen a few videos on youtube but I want to know in detail on how I could brush my teeth!.

I have seen other questions too in this site and others but please, if you could really help, I would really appreciate it, especially if you are an orthodontist or a dentist!.

Please take your time answering my questions!.!.!.

Many thanks,

Don't eat any really hard things, like apples or carrots, and yeah keep away from caramel and toffee, also fizzy drinks are okay but you HAVE to rinse out with water after them!. I have pretty much anything, just make sure I rinse after!.

As for the cleaning, I take about 10-15 minutes on mine, I used to take 35-40 minutes on them, but gradually you get quicker!.
Use the little brace-brush, sometimes called a Christmas tree brush, to go under all the wires and round the brackets!.
Do each tooth individually, and floss and use a strong mouthwash like Listerine, and also use some sort of fluoride mouthwash/gel too!.

Just keep focused on the perfect smile you'll have at the end of it- good luck! (=Www@Answer-Health@Com

Anything is fine except for things that are sticky, gooey, hard, etc!. Corn on the cob is a bad idea unless you want to go through the hard time trying to get it out of there!. You might want to stop chewing gum for a while, and no toffee, caramel, etc!. Just realize that now a lot of things can get stuck in there, but anything like the ones I just mentioned could actually mess up your braces rather than just making you look goofy!.

Chocolate is fine, just don't go with the caramel!.

Brush your teeth like normal, but watch yourself while you do it!. Have a mirror out, bare your teeth, and first go after any discoloring from food or pieces of food left in!. Don't forget to look on the bottom of your teeth as well!. Don't pick out any of this food with your fingers; just use the bristles!. I'd recommend not using an electric toothbrush for a while, since they can mess things up if they're too powerful!.

Anyway, good luck! Www@Answer-Health@Com
