Congratulations! First of all - it doesn't hurt! I'm sure that's welcome news after all you've been through!. The teeth feel strange because it's been quite a while since you've not had the brackets on, and I remember it feeling a little odd to smile, just because your gums aren't hitting the braces any more!. You'll get used to it fast though! Oh - I also remember wanting to brush my teeth all the time because it felt so good! And that was in 1987! :-)Www@Answer-Health@Com
That's so exciting! I feels so good! Here are some steps!
1) They will remove the wires and brackets!.
2) They will remove the glue from your teeth!. This is really annoying because it takes a little while but it doesn't hurt!.
3) They will take X-rays and fit you for a retainer!.

i remember getting mine off too! i was so scared, but lucky enough it didn't hurt a bit and was a fast enough process!.
one thing that i do remember is that after everything was finished my teeth felt really slimy because my lips weren't rubbing against anything!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's gonna feel weird the first few weeks!.
Especially looking in the mirror while you're brushing your teeth!.
But you'll be fine - just takes getting use to!.
I got my braces off (had them for 2!.5 years) about 23 years ago!.

It feels great to get all that metal all off of your teeth!. It doesn't hurt in my opinion!. You'll want to keep rubbing your tongue across your teeth!.
