How can I reduce facial swelling after wisdom teeth removal?!

Question: How can I reduce facial swelling after wisdom teeth removal!?
I had all four wisdom teeth out 9 am Monday (it's now 11 pm Tuesday) in the chair!. I've been applying ice packs to my face and it brings the swelling down but as soon as I remove the ice the swelling comes back!. Is there anything else I can do!? Are there any medications I can take!? Would anti-inflammatorys help!? How long should the swelling last for!? Many thanks for your help!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
1!. Apply ice on and off for at least 2 more days!.

2!. Also take Tab!. Ibuprofen 800mg every 6 - 8 hours (ONLY after a decent meal) to take the swelling down!.

NOTE :

DO NOT Use a heating pad!.

That will increase the swelling!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

All for wisdom teeth!? The swelling will not go off in a couple of days!

I had 2 of my wisdom teeth removed and the swell was on for 3 days!. There's nothing much you can do other than rest and try not to talk or move too much (cause it moves the stitches, resulting in more pain and swell)

Your dentists would have provided medication for anti-inflammatory, just take those!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Only take what your dentist gave to you!. Swelling is normal after surgery and there is nothing you can take to prevent it because it's your body's way of repairing itself!. Use the meds given, for pain management, you don't want to upset your tummy with anything else!. Vomiting with all that you have going on in your mouth is not a good experience!. The swelling will not reach it's maximum until 2-3 days post-op!. The ice packs must be left on continuously while you are awake!. After about 36 hours ice no longer helps!. You have to use moist heat on either side of your face!. The chipmunk effect will gone before you know it!. Take care!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds really wierd but Midol will reduce the swelling!. When I had mine removed I also had all four at once, and the dentist of course gave me pain meds and he told me to use Midol I thought he was crazy but it really helps, just use as directed on the box!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ibuprofen is for pain and swelling!. It works for soft tissue swelling also!. Keep taking that and continue to use the ice!. It has only been a little over 24 hrs!. Use it for another day to help decrease swelling, after that it will probably be much better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
