Dental School Grades?!

Question: Dental School Grades!?
I plan to become an orthodontist, but my high school GPA isn't that great, and i'm just taking the general classes in order to graduate, nothing special such as extra science classes or higher math that this field might require!. I am currently in int!. algebra, and an average science class!.

I completely blew my freshmen year and got a 1!.6 GPA!. My sophomore year I got my act together and came through with a 3!.3!. But altogether, they both weigh down together, giving me an overall GPA of 2!.5!. I am hoping to pull through and graduate with a 3!.0!.
After high school I plan on going directly to a community college for the first two years and then transferring to a state college for the remaining two years!.

I then hope to get into a quality dental school!. I am worried that I won't be able to do so because my high school grades will lower my chances, especially in such a competitive field as this!.

Does Dental School require you to have a good GPA from high school, or do they just consider your college GPA!?
Also, do they care if you just took general classes in high school!?

I plan on giving my all in college to get an excellent GPA in all of the required math and science classes that I will be taking!.

This has really been worrying me, I just don't want my freshmen year to completely effect me from being successful in something that I want to do, it doesn't seem fair!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
You can stop worrying :) Dental schools only look at your college GPA!. The only thing that matters as far as your high school education is that you graduated!. It'll be important to study really hard and get really good grades once you hit college so you can get into dental school!. Like you're already aware, it's very competitive!. You will also need to get very good grades in dental school in order to get into orthodontics!. It's a lot of hard work, but totally worth it!Www@Answer-Health@Com
