Has anyone here had a Palet Expander?!

Question: Has anyone here had a Palet Expander!?
I just got one!. My mom made soft-crust pizza and I couldn't eat that, my pallet kept coming off!. Now, I am going to eat jello and I wanted to know if something similar happened to you, and how long you have to wear it for!? It really bothers me, I am not pronouncing my 's' and 'c' ' right and not speaking properly, and I wanted to know what happened with yours!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Oh, dear!. I had a pallet expander!. A full mouth!. It was glued to my teeth and I had these 2 massive hunks of plastic over my molars for 8 months!. It was awful in the beginning!. Turning the key, trying to mash up food with top flat teeth!.!. Hopefully you have the kind thats only hooked onto 2 teeth!. My friend had one last year!. I feel your pain!. Pallet expanders are awful things truly they are; but they work wonders!! I had the worst teeth ever and with the combination of a pallet expander and braces I'm nearing the perfect smile!. Pallet expanders are not long duty wear!. Under a year probably more than 3 months!. You will adapt to it and the funny way you'll say words and pronounce things!. Eating will be a pain for about a week or less but after that you should be fine!. Trust me: It's worth it!. I promise!. Hope if outs relatively soon and you get a perfect smile!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I didn't get my braces until I was in my 20's!. Part of my orthodontic treatment involved getting a palatal expander to widen my upper jaw!. Because I was an adult, I had to have surgery to break my jaw in order for the expander to work!.

I was pleasantly surprised that I felt absolutely nothing when the key was used to "crank" the appliance!.

Learning how to speak with it in place did take some time!. The most frustrating part when it came to eating for me was lettuce - it kept getting wrapped around the top and it was hard to get it off!.

Stick with it and it will be well worth the result!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
