At what age do you start using any sort of toothpaste on your child's teeth?!

Question: At what age do you start using any sort of toothpaste on your child's teeth!?
I have a 1 year old daughter who now has 8 teeth & I have been wondering about when you are supposed to start using children's toothpaste!. We brush her teeth with a toothbrush, but haven't used toothpaste yet, is that ok!? Also how many times a day or what not!? I find it quite difficult to get her to cooperate!. How did you get your child to maybe open their mouths a little more to make it easier & to also not clamp down on the brush as you are trying to brush!. is it bad that I haven't started using toothpaste yet!? I'm all nervous about it now!. Also at what do you start take your children to the dentist!?

Our nurse told us it was ok from 12 month's , you can buy special paste for toddler's and a special brush !. I just put a wee bit of paste on his brush and give it to him , he just eat's it lol !. You shouldn't worry to much about her first set of teeth , but just get her accustom to a tooth brush and paste !Www@Answer-Health@Com

when they start getting teeth, they sell a special kind of toothpaste and toothbrush just for babies(my daughter has one for her baby)!.The tooth paste for babies they like it so they don't mind you brushing there teeth!.i think you start taking your child to the dentist at 2yrs oldWww@Answer-Health@Com

Usually you start them on the safe to swallow fluoride free training tooth paste that can be found at walmart or anywhere, generally you have her brush for 2 times a day!. When she is around 2 you will notice her breathe will start to stink I use a little pea size amount of mint on her tooth brush now, or you can use stages!. It is a normal reaction for her to clamp you should try to brush your teeth with her and when she sees you do it she will catch on!. Allow her to try and brush her own teeth! Also around 3 is the best time to start them at the dentist unless there is a problem with her teeth before hand! Good Luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
