Broken, possibly decayed molar, what are my options?!

Question: Broken, possibly decayed molar, what are my options!?
I was just eating something a little bit ago when I tasted something strange and found a chunk of my molar had fallen right off!. The molar is the last one on the left side bottom, (number 17 based on this: http://www!.oasisadvancedwellness!.com/ima!.!.!. ), and the chunk missing is the upper right of it!. The inside of the chunk that fell out looked to be somewhat black, so I fear it's decay, it doesn't hurt at all though, it just tastes a little weird when I swallow sometimes!.

I've never had this happen, and I don't have a lot of money and no dental insurance, so I wanted to know what are my options, what kind of procedure/how painful it is, what the price range is, how bad it is, and what happens if it's ignored!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I work in the dental field for many years and I can tell you this, if the tooth broke easily this is because it it soft which is due to decay especially sine you said it looked black!. If it is #17 which is the wisdom tooth (last tooth) on the lower left then I would have it exrtacted because your only other options are root canal or a crown and that is if the tooth can be saved!. As far as financial your best bet is to go to your local hospital that has a dental clinic and they will work with you!. Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

the fast and cheap thing to do is to get it pulled out
before the decay moves to the other teethWww@Answer-Health@Com

Consider a crown or root canal!.Not feasable ,pull it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I agree with Elizabeth, if money is the object!. One of my good friends is a dentist and he is going to school to become an oral surgeon and at his dental school, the students can do procedures as well while being supervised by current Dentists!.

There could be greater damage depending on the tooth that broke!.!.!.if the crown (the white part which we all see) is broken, it may require a root canal, which may also lead to oral surgery if the tooth broke off - if it's a slight break, a root canal will still be preformed and a permanent crown placed over the damaged tooth!.

If possible, go to a dental school to have the procedure done - it's typically cheaper, if that is not an option - have the tooth extracted, but note this could cause other teeth to shift or move thus resulting in gaps between the teeth!.

Try to find a dentist to prevent further damage and decay getting into the gums leading to an abscess or internal infection!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
