What is the purpose of a retainer?!

Question: What is the purpose of a retainer!?
And would it straighten out my teeth slightly!? My teeth aren't too bad, but my 2 top center teeth point inwards a little, and I would really like it to be fixed without the cost of braces!.!.!.would it work to wear a retainer!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
A retainer 'retains' the way your teeth align after wearing braces!. They don't move your teeth they just hold them in place!.
You would probably need a plate, but you would need to speak to an orthodontist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Retainers are worn after braces!.
After braces are removed, the teeth are still loose,, the retainer holds them in place so that they don't go back to the way they were until the teeth are firmly in place!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

not that i know of, retainers are really there just 2 keep ur teeth in place, try invisline tho, i heard it works pretty well, and its cheaper than bracesWww@Answer-Health@Com
