Do Braces Cause Speech Issues?!

Question: Do Braces Cause Speech Issues!?
so, I've had braces for about 3 going on 4 years now and I've noticed that I've developed somewhat of a speech impediment thing and I think it's because of the braces but I'm not sure and I also have this bar thing at the roof of my mouth but it's really annoying to not be able to pronounce my th's and s's and embarrassing too so I just want to know if that's something that comes with braces since I didn't get any information on that so thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I just got my braces off and my retainer caused more funny sounding speech that the braces did!. More than likely it is the palate expander inthe roof of your mouth doing it as it prevents you from forming the correct shape of your tongue for certain sounds !. At least it did my son!.
Withen a few weeks of getting all the extra stuff out of your mouth you will see that your speech will go back to normalWww@Answer-Health@Com

Braces!.!.!.I don't recall them make you have speech problems!.!.!.maybe the thing on the roof of your mouth, because things like that can make speech stuff happen!. Until I got used to my retainer I sounded halfretardedd!. Justpronouncee your Abc's!. You'll fix it in no time!. It;s just the thing on the roof of your mouth!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, there can be a little bit of lisping because of the braces!.

However, that is only transient and will go away when the treatment has been finished and all the hardware has been removed :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
