Question: What hurts more: spacers or braces!? !?
I really want 2 kno cus i got maii spacers nd top brackets on last sunday nd da ortho said dat i will get maii bottom brackets nd wires on next sunday so im really scared!.!.!.!.do braces hurt a lot!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

A lot of people told me that spacers hurt, but mine didn't!. It was annoying, no doubt, but not painful!.
I just got my braces (top and bottom) and it didn't hurt until several hours later!. When I leave my teeth alone (don't touch any with tongue or eat anything), all I feel is this weird itchy tingling sensation!. When I simply bite together, there is pain and the pain is actually rather hard to bear!.
I take painkillers before sleep because I bite down subconsciously when I fall asleep and the pain actually wakes me up!. I stop the painkillers after a few days because the pain eventually subsides when your teeth get used to the braces!.
In conclusion, the braces don't start to hurt until several hours later so I suggest you fill your stomach before the hurting starts!. Take painkillers only when you really cannot bear the pain!. Don't become dependent on them!. The pain is only for a few days after you put them on (and after each tightening session), so bear with it and the pain eventually goes away!.

ooh that's hard!.!.!. they both hurt about the same i think, but spacers hurt only where they put in the spacers, but the pain from braces is kind of spread out across all the teeth!. but either way, if you take a advil, and eat soft foods for a day, you won't endure much pain, and it will go away on its own after a day or two anywaysWww@Answer-Health@Com
braces of course!.!.but the spacers hurted as well!.!.make sure you eat before you get your wires on and drink painkillers before you get them on so that it can be in your system make sure you DO NOT attempt to eat solid foods or any meats because the pain is awful!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

braces don't really hurt, i mean they may be sore for about the first week and they may hurt a little when you get them tightened but nothing intolerable

Spacers AND braces both KIIIILLLLLL the first few days, the pain is about the same!.

Braces only really hurt badly right after you go in for your regular adjustments!. All that tightening of the metal is highly uncomfortable, but without it!.!.braces wouldn't work!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
