I simply hate going to the dentist, root canal?!

Question: I simply hate going to the dentist, root canal!?
So, around last week sometime, I had go to the dentist for a filling; he did the filling, and I was out, I was fine after the numbing went away, no sensitivity, no pain, but he still prescribed me T3s, over a week later, I'm starting to feel a little sensitivity to the hot and cold, especially when I brush my teeth!.!.ANYWAY I phoned into the office today, and asked them about getting it looked at, the receptionist said it sounds to her like I need a root canal; BUT when I was there this passed week, wouldn't he have told me I needed to get a root canal then and had me set another appointment!?

Answers:
Was it an Amalam or a white(composite) filling!.!? Anyway we perform evidence based dentistry !.A hole can be shallow or deep when it's deep sometimes regular filling might not solve the problem and root canal becomes obligatory !.When this is the situation it is advisable for the Dentist to notify the patient beforehand in order to avoid misunderstanding!. professionally only if heat test will be positive root canal is the treatment otherwise simple replacing the filling may solve the problem!.GOOD LUCK!. yes he would have!. receptionists aren't doctors!. keep your appointment and have the doc look at it!. it is normal to have sensitivity after having any kind of tooth work and it can take a long time for it to go away!. when you go in for your appointment i will be VERY surprised if your doctor recommends a root canal!. good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
