Question: Swollen gums around tooth region of a very very old Root Canal!?
My gums often swell up around the area where I have a very old root canal (15 yrs old)!. It always swells when I floss!. Help please!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like you have an infection or abscess!. I had the same thing and the dentist had to take the cap off and do some clean up work on the tooth and replace the cap which was very expensive!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like it could be infected!. I worked for an oral surgeon for 6 years and many root canal's end up failing and the tooth has to end up being extracted!. Personally, I would never have a root canal done!. Your best bet it to just have it extracted and get an dental implant put in!. In the long run you will end up spending less!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

could be anything such as:
food impaction causing gingivitis
a failing root canal
a fractured root
