Question: I'm scared of getting braces!!!!?
So basically all i know is that i am gonna get braces soon!. Does it hurt!?!!!

They just glue on the brackets!.
then they put a wire through them!.
then they use this little, tiny 'gun' like thing to 'shoot' little o rings on the brackets over the wire so it stays on!.
It doesn't hurt unless the assistant is just plain retarded, which never really happens!.
The braces will hurt for like a week after ward!. just a bit sore!. not like AHH! OMG! lol!.
just eat soup and pudding and such!.

No, it doesn't hurt!. Your teeth will hurt a little bit when they tighten your braces but it isn't like your in horrible pain!. You can just feel your teeth moving or adjusting!. Just make sure for the first week or so that you use the wax that they give you over night!. Make sure you talk with your ortho!. and let them know that you're very worried about everything and they will explain everything very well before they do it!. I am 16 and i got my braces off in August!. It's gonna hurt for a while!. just because your teeth are shifting and moving around!. You may want to go on a bit of a soft food diet until your teeth stop hurting!.
When they put mine on, they made me bite this thing that moved my lips out of the way!. Then they put glue on all of my teeth and put the brackets on!. Then they will put some type of wire on, then a while later you may have to wear rubber bands!.
some people have to have teeth pulled!. I didn't but it just depends on your case!.

no it doesnt hurt while they put them on, like around the first week they will put spacers between your last four molars, you wont feel those :]
later they will just glue your brackets on every tooth of yours, you won't feel that either :]]

I wore braces for one and half years!. It will hurt in begining but you will find a change in U in up -coming days!.There is a special brush for brushing teeth but ask ur doctor about it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
