Questions about wisdom tooth removal?!

Question: Questions about wisdom tooth removal!?
I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed last Friday, only one, lower right, has stitches and two hours after the procedure the bleeding had stopped!. The list my oral surgeon gave me doesn't give specific timetables on eating, drinking, smoking, etc!. it just says for a few days!. I was wondering when I could start eating foods that aren't just pudding and soup, I was dying for the KFC my family had tonight and, as I am a cigarette smoker, when it would be safe to smoke and not run the risk of dry socket!? (Please don't say, "don't smoke ever again," or "it doesn't matter when you smoke you're going to die from cancer anyway!.") Thanks for any advice!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
You can eat what you like but try not to chew on the sore gums until they have healed a bit more!. Alcohol won't affect the healing!. If you smoke, rinse around the gum area with warm salty water several times a day!. Dry sockets are comparatively rare, there seems to be a bit of a panic on this site about them!. If you do get one they are easy to treat!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Dentists say to wait a full 48 hours to smoke, however a friend of mine got his pulled and he rinsed his mouth out with salt water after smoking and never got dry socket, he also said something about putting cotton balls in the socket and changing it after he smoked!. As far as food goes they say not to eat anything too hot or too cold but you can eat it as soon as you feel able to!. So you should be good, hope this helped!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You probably shouldn't eat solid food for at least two days, and avoid brushing your teeth or gurgling, even after a blood clot forms!. As for smoking, that is a definite no-no during wisdom teeth removal! Good luck recovering, and hope you DON'T die from cancer[;Www@Answer-Health@Com

well you could eat solid food right now, so grab that KFC!. I would advice you to smoke after a week and a half post operation to prevent post operative infection!. Drink a lot of fluids and take vitamin c for faster wound healing!.chow!Www@Answer-Health@Com
