Does Anyone Have a Fear of going to the Dentist?!
Question: Does Anyone Have a Fear of going to the Dentist!?
I am absolutley terified of the dentist!. I dont know why!. I went the other day to get an exam and xrays, and I was shaking so bad!. Does anyone else have this problem, and what do you do to help you thru it!. I have alot of work that needs to be done, root canals, fillings, etc, and I need to find a way to relax!. I know what you mean !.!. when i was little i was like that but i knew that it had to be done and nothing was going to happen to me when i got older and my teeth started to gorw and everything was happening i had no choice !.!.!.!. take a deep breath dont !.!. make sure you have a light breakfast so when you get nervous you wont throw up !.!.!. if your really that nervous and cant handle it ask the dentist to give you laughing gas !.!. i did it when i had to get my gums cut i felt not a thing ! !.!. they insert a little needle into the crease of your innter arm and they inject a liquid that makes you sleepy and you wont feel a thing !.!.!. you wake up and your good to go !Www@Answer-Health@Com
I'm not scared of going to the dentist, because even when I was younger (i''m no 13 years old) I had good and caring dentists!.!.!.!. Now I have an extremely nice dentist who cares about the patient!.!.!.!. I have never been afraid of any dental procedures!.!.!.!. Last friday I was getting a cleaning and my dentist went, "We really should take these out," and I got two of my teeth pulled out and was not afraid at all!.!.!. My only problem is that I get too tired to open my mouth for a long time!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I dont mean to be scarcastic but a well know fact about dentists is, their profession has the most suicides!. Go figure! My fears are ground into me from years of pain they have caused!. I could write a book on dentists!. The only way your painless isd if they put you under, then afterwards you still have jaw pain for days & let me tell you, I like soup but not that much & not thru a straw!. The last time I went "HE" knocked a hole in the side of my tongue!. It bled so much he kept asking me, "ARE YOU TAKING BLOOD THINNERS!?" I felt like spitting it all on him!. Not a wise choice since spitting on anyone is a Felony in the U!.S!.
Here's proof dentists dont care about their patients!. I once went to my wife's country, outside the U!.S!. where I had extensive dental work!. They didn't use any pain killer & they did a root canal with other work as well, like fillings!. The way they did it was, they took their time!. I did have an unreasonable fear of the dentist - I hadn't been in 20 years! But, I asked around and found a dentist that was "painless"!. He said if I felt any pain while he was doing work, then he wasn't doing his job properly!. I truly don't mind going to the dentist any more!. Find one who will be sure to give you enough novocaine or nitrous, what you need to get you through any work without pain!. You'll be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
If you tell your dentist's office of this fear they often prescribe a little something you can take before your appointment to relax you!. Also a lot of dentists have laughing gas!. If they won't help you, find one who will!. Remember, you're the BOSS! And they really want your business!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I am scared of the dentist, but sounds like you got it worse than me!. Could you see if your dentist can give you a low dose of valium to calm you down before the visit!? Or can you be knocked out for the root canals, etc!?

close your eyes and dont think about it, just imagine a happy place!. or try to fall asleep!. or even tell yourself that if you are calm at the dentists, you will go out for ice cream or something later, i find that that helps me a lot sometimes!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

change dentists as this helped me or tell yourself that there is a lot worse than the dentist

I cannot stand going to the dentist!. Valium does help before an appointment though!. They ALWAYS find something wrong and you can't trust them!. They're always trying to inflate their own pockets!. It's ashame many are so unethical!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
