Wisdom teeth.. Novacaine, laughing gas, or knock me out! ..?!
Question: Wisdom teeth!.!. Novacaine, laughing gas, or knock me out! !.!.!?
Okay!.!. so Tuesday I am getting my wisdom teeth extracted!. One or two of them need to be cut out!. I want to know people's advice on what to do!.!.
I am thinking about just going with the novacaine!. How much pain will I be in!? How's the recovery afterwards!? :-/Www@Answer-Health@Com

First you have the better idea of what is best for you!. How well do you do with dental procedures!? If you do ok then go with the novocaine!. The gas really won't help with the pain part as well!. It is usually used to calm a person down on top of novocaine!. Being "knocked out" is the best way to go!. For me at least!. :) Reason is, wisdom teeth are a little harder to extract than other teeth!. They are in the far back and most of the time they aren't completed erupted so they are usually cut out!.
With the novocaine you most likely will feel pressure and some slight sharp pains!. If you add the gas then the effects are the same!.
With the anesthesia you don't remember a thing and you aren't having to sit in the chair awake watching them pull out your teeth!. : ) Sometimes the procedure can last up to an hour and a half and that is a long time for someone to be sitting in the chair awake!. :)
Recovery time is usually better for people who have had anesthesia!. The dentist can work a lot faster and do what he needs to do because you are knocked out!. You may have some swelling in all situations, it differs with each person!. Go with what you think Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have had alot of dental work due to bad teeth (not by fault but by family history) Laughing gas I don't find works well and novacaine i need about 5 shoots for it to work!. Anyhoo i got knocked out and It only took 20 mins to get 4 wisdom teeth out but it seems like forever when you wake up!. I wouldnt want to be awake during that but thats just me!. Afterwards you dont feel any pain, but you are gunna be very groggy!. And don't try and stand up real quick like i did I almost fell over!. The first 3 days after I looked like a chipmonk and only ate soup and ice cream because it is painful to try and eat solids!. And also don't smoke if you are a smoker and don't drink out of a straw!. You could get dry socket, a very painful infection!.

Impacted wisdom teeth will cause more pain afterwards and longer healing time than if they were erupted!. It decently sucks for a few days but not that big a deal!.
The extraction process isn't extremely fun!. Not too much pain but it is nice to be gassed to make the experience less traumatic!. It's really not that big a deal for most but it all depends on how you feel about dental work and the dentist prying teeth out of your head!. I'd take the gas if it is offered!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had them knock me out when I had mine cut out!. I had two cut out!. One of them was so large they had to drill it in half before it would come!. I do not regret this at allll! I was pretty much out of it for the rest of the day, but that was perfectly fine with me!. I think it depends how much tolerance you have for dental work!. I have very little!. I would recommend having them just go on and knock you out! Think of it this way, you probably wont regret having them knock you out!.!. cause you won't even remember it!. But if you are half awake, you might regret not being knocked out!. Just my opinion! Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
When I had my wisdom teeth taken out they knocked me out!. My recovery was fine though!. It was a little sore for a few days after and my checks got little bruises on them towards the back jaw!. Also eating stuff with tomatoes hurt it a little, but overall it was fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I got all four of mine removed with IV sedation!. I highly recommend that =) I also got laughing gas to calm me down!. I hated it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
