I've already gotten braces, and it honestly wasn't so horrible!.

Before you go to the orthodontist to get them on, you may have to take Advil to reduce the pain afterwards!. It doesn't hurt AT all, while he/she's putting the brackets on!. They'll put glue on, and then they place the brackets onto the glue!. NO DRILLING!. People usually think you have to get your teeth drilled for braces, but you don't, so don't worry!.

After that they'll put the wires in between the brackets, and put rubberbands (you may get to choose your color) in between the brackets to hold the wire in place!.

The only uncomfortable thing about the entire process is having this plastic thing put in your mouth to hold it open!.

It may feel weird to talk afterwards, but you'll get used to it, and before you know it, you won't even realize the difference in your speaking!.

Ohh yeahh and it will hurt when you first get them on, and you'll have to eat mostly soft foods, like yogurt!. This'll only be for maybe a week, then after that, you'll pretty much be able to eat whatever! Www@Answer-Health@Com

First, are you getting wires on your first visit!?
If so, you want to take Advil before you go!. Otherwise, you'll have no problems!.
The braces themselves are really easy!.
Your teeth will be cleaned and prepared for braces (really sour cleaner), then the braces are glued to the front of the tooth!. Absolutely no pain at all!. It's very easy!.
Then, when you get a wire, it will be cut to the correct length and tied in with little rubber bands!. (those colored ties that you see)!. That is what causes the pain!. You feel a muscle cramp as your teeth move!.
The best thing to do is chew a LOT the first day!. It is like massaging a sore muscle!.
Also, take Advil every 4-6 hours for pain!.
It gets better as your teeth loosen up and adjust to the braces!.
All the best and good luck :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yeah, taking Advil will help!! :) But really, it's not as bad as everyone says it really is!. When you first get them on, it'll feel weird, because you're not quite used to them yet!. After 4 or 5 days, that feeling goes away!. It might hurt a little when you first get them on, but nothing major!. On a scale of 1-10 judging the pain, it's about a 3, but it depends on your pain tolerance!. I will be honest, though, it does hurt more when you get them tightened!. On a scale of 1-10, it's a 6!. Just make sure to eat really soft foods after you get them on/when you get them tightened!. Things like pudding, spaghetti, mac & cheese, & maybe even a soft sandwich worked for me!. You'll be ok - me & almost all of my friends have them, & we all agree they don't hurt that much!. Best of luck to you!! :) Www@Answer-Health@Com

it does not hurt one bit to get them on!.
(the brakets may be a little tight fitting) but its just really uncomfortable from the lip spacers and awful tasting glue!.

if your teeth are extremely crooked, then you will be in some extreme pain a few hours after you get them!. This is because of how much your teeth shift!. If you are lucky enough to have fairly straight teeth, your mouth will still be sore, but not half as bad!.

Eat things like soups and yogurt the first week or so, your mouth can still be touchy when you bite down!.

I do not reccomend biting into one of those big juicy steaks the first night you have em on =]]

but don't worry,
a few days afterwards, you wont even remmber you have em in your mouth =]

just wait until they come off :D

hope this helps
