Is orange juice bad for your teeth?!

Question: Is orange juice bad for your teeth!?
Answers:
Citric acid can destroy tooth enamel!. But I don't think drinking some orange juice and then rinsing out your mouth and or brushing your teeth will harm you!. You just need to not bathe your teeth in anything acidic too regularly!. Orange juice has other good stuff in it that you actually want! Just be sure to rinse and not hold it in your mouth too long!.

"So what happens when we bathe our teeth in an acid bath, such as citric acid from lemons or carbonic acid from soda!?

The inorganic calcium salts are dissolved!. The tooth becomes decalcified leaving a soft organic matrix that can be easily abraded away or invaded by bacteria and hence decayed!.

A typical individual who has habitually been sucking on lemons will have lost the enamel on the front of their teeth and perhaps even display acid erosion on the biting surfaces of their back teeth!. Drinking large quantities of soda will also cause a generalized decalcification of the teeth!."

yes i agree, orange juice has vitamin C which helps with strong teeth and bones!. I drink it heaps (I squeeze my own from fresh oranges in my juicer machine) ive read the other answers here and most say it erodes the enamel, I dont know how true that is, but I have never had a problem!. maybe its because I drink the freshly squeezed stuff only!! Ive heard very strong mouthwashes can also strip away the enamel! YIKEESS! so which is worst then!? hmmm something to think aboutWww@Answer-Health@Com

Actually orange juice is good for your teeth as it has vitamin c!. But too much of it is bad because the acid from the orange juice can cause chemical erosion to the enamel!. That's why in the long run, your teeth will become oversensitive!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's high in vitamin C which is basically ascorbic acid, though it's good for ur body!. The acid wears away your enamel and when that's gone, it's GONE!. Just like anything else u have to portion ur intake & the use of a straw is good if u just have to have it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It takes the enamel off your teeth due to its acidicidyWww@Answer-Health@Com
