Question: Are having elastics the last step of having braces!?
They told me I might have braces for 2 years, but other people in my school say i'm very close to being done with braces because I have elastics, and I've only had braces for 9 months!. Is it really the last step!?

Elastics are to help align your teeth and help with jaw structure!. Most Of the time elastics are the last step of having braces!. But it sometimes its not!. If your teeth are straight than they wanna make the straight teeth align with your jaw!. You have elastics on for about 4-7 months so your teeth have time to move!. But Wear them all the time or when your othordonist tells you to wear them!. Wearing elastics the times you need to wear them help your teeth move faster and gets your braces off faster!. If you dont wear them, you will just add on months with the treatment!. Dont Worry!. It takes time for braces to come off!. When you get them off you will see a new, beautiful smile!. It will work out!.

Have elastics typically does mean that you are in the last stage of having your braces on!. But if you've only had them for 9 months, and they said 2 years!.!. then you probably have a while to go!. Just make sure that you wear them all the time because if you don't then you'll have to have braces for even longer!. But next time you go to the ortho just ask them how much longer you have until you can get them off!.!.!. I asked EVERY time I went!. hahaWww@Answer-Health@Com
your orthodontist told you that you need your braces of for 2 years!.!.!.so thats how long you will have them on!. dont listen to your friends!.!.!.listen to your orthodontist!.
usually if you have to get elastics this early means you may have gaps in your teeth or they want to fix your bite earlier!. every orthodontist does different treatments different!.
my friend got 3 elastics put on each side when she got her braces put on because she has a gap between every tooth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

most likely no!. the orthodontist gives u elastics on and off to fix your teeth!. so most likely it isnt the last step!. you dont get elastics until a certain point in treatment but trust me its not the last step!. if the ortho says two years two years it is !. hope i could help!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
