Has anyone ever had all four wisdom teeth taken out at once?!

Question: Has anyone ever had all four wisdom teeth taken out at once!?
I met with an oral surgeon and scheduled to have my wisdom teeth taken out - they suggested it would be best to do all four at once!. I opted to be completely asleep while they do this, but I'm really worried about recovery!. Is this going to be really awful!? I asked my doctor about it and he acted like it was no big deal at all!. He actually shrugged his shoulders and said it would be "a few days of bed rest"!. I just find that hard to believe - I've heard so many people say how awful it is!.

Give it to me straight - how bad is this going to be!?!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I only had to get 3 of mine out so I guess I'm cheating ;) I had heard from friends, family, coworkers that it was going to be complete hell and I'd be in bed for a week bla bla bla bla bla!. Complete lies!.

I had the general anesthesia (absolutely the way to go) with mine!. Didn't feel myself go under and when I came to it felt like such a short time that I didn't even believe he took my teeth out!. I felt a little groggy that day but really no extreme pain!. There was alot of bleeding initially!. All you have to do is bite down on gauze for a few hours and it completely stops!.

I had pretty much no pain the entire time!. Got mine out on a Friday afternoon and was back in work no problem on Monday!. The absolute only pain I felt was due to sleeping on my side - I'm a natural side sleeper so it caused pain putting pressure on the side of my face!. I was glad to have those suckers gone - they caused me way more pain when they were in than when I had them taken out!.

Keep some ibuprofen and sherbert on hand and you'll be golden!. Its the worlds best excuse to pig out on pasta and ice cream all weekend :-D

Good luck!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had all four of mine removed when I was 18 (way back in the stone age of 1983) and yeah, I felt crummy for a few days but I am SO glad I had them all removed at once instead of one at a time!. This way, you'll only have to go through this once and believe me---you'll feel just as bad having one removed as all four!. So do it and get it over with!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

its better to get it all overwith in one go around!. you dont wanna be hopped up on narcotics and have to be on a fluid diet for 3 days twice!. It really isnt that bad and the painkillers are kind of fun :) just get someone to drive you there and back and take care of you!.!.!.3 days of soft foods and painkillers and 10 days of antibiotics and you are good to go :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

My sister had all four of her wisdom teeth out at once!. And she was very happy she did!. You only have to go through that pain once! When she got home she was bleeding, but it stopped after a while!. And you're so out of it, you won't even remember! And after the surgery, she slept for the next day or two!. And then she was FINE!!!! Everything will be all right honey, I promise ya!! :) I hope I helped you!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had all four done at once!. Mine all needed to be surgically removed as well!. I didn't have any swelling, but there was some pain!. However, I was back to playing trumpet 1 week later in preparation for a concert!.

There really aren't any "bandage changes" past changing gauze the first day/night!.

I was 17 when I had it done!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i have!. it's nothing!. you're in bed for like 3 days and you don't even feel the pain if you take the meds right!. you're just really tired for a day or two!. just make sure you have someone to likeeeee watch after you for a little bit!.

i loved having my wisdom teeth removed!.i'd so do it again if i could!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

With what I know, I would rather have them out with one visit!. If it is going to give u a problem, it could be same as if u had just one!. Go ahead and take a chance!. Some times they're just like a fly to the pitcher!. You will be given instructions for any possible complication!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

hey I had all four taken out at once, its no big deal!. It hurts a little bit but trust me its better this way, They took them out when I was 18 in 2002, the trick of this is rest and try to eat soft stuff!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

i had all 4 of mine pulled!. recovery isnt bad at all!. u dont feel a thing!.!.trust meWww@Answer-Health@Com

It is best to do all at once!. That's what I did!. You have only one recovery period instead of several!. Just get it done!. It's scary, but doing one or two teeth at time means you have to go through this anxiety again! Get it done!. You'll be happy when it's over!.

I was 27 when I had mine pulled!. Two had to be broken to be removed!. My daughter was 2 years old!. I felt better with my teeth out! Go for it!

I get sick from acetaminophen or codeine, two or the drugs they give for pain!. I just took ibuprofen and it was OK!. Lots of ice cream at first, and follow the dentist's advice!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yup, just the morning I got all 4 out! (I'm 15) I got mine out this morning! I was so scared!!!!!!!! I woke up multiple times in the night crying and I when I got to the office I was crying too!. I know the pain hasn't kicked in much yet, but so far the worst part was the night before because I was soooo scared!! The nurses were so incredibly nice and made me feel as comfortable as I could be!. I didn't want laughing gas before they gave me the IV but they made me use it!. I was kinda scared!. They told me to close my mouth and breathe through my nose so that it would work but I didn't like the feeling of it so I just kept opening my mouth so it didn't work on me! LOL!. Then the put in the IV and it was just a little prick!. I don't even remember falling asleep! The nurse just told me to hold her hand, so I squeezed it and the next thing I know I was in the recovery room!. I was really surprised that I didn't even know I was falling asleep!. Most people are really drugged and loopy afterwards but I was totally normal! A bit sleepy, but I remembered going to my car and going home!. At first the bleeding was gross, but manageable!. Soon it stopped so I started taking my 600MG ibuprofen with a small cup of creamy yogurt (no fruit bits!) and some water!. I spilled when I tried eating and drinking but soon I got the hang of it!. I know that the pain is gonna be kinda bad tomorrow and Saturday but I'm guessing it's gonna be bearable with the ibuprofen!. I'm just at home watching movies! You'll do great, I promise!. I was more scared than I thought anyone could ever be and it was totally fine!! I PROMISE YOU'LL DO GOOD! =]Www@Answer-Health@Com
