Question: How bad is it to have multiple cavities filled!?
I'm 18 years old, and I had never had a cavity before, and today I went to the dentist, and BAM! 5 of them!. :(
I'm SO nervous to get them filled, and it doesn't help that I have an anxiety disorder!. How is it!? Does it hurt!?
They're all on the same side, so they said they are going to do them the same day!. Is it going to be sore after!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Im a dental assistant and cavities dont hurt!. They'll numb you first using a topical gel and then they numb you with Novocaine using a syringe!. You dont feel the syringe because you're already numb from the gel!. And its good to get them all over with at the same time!. You'll be numb afterward for about 2-4 hrs, but you shouldnt be in any pain after that!. You can eat and drink anything as soon as the numbness wears off!. You can also ask your dentist about using nitrous!. They can put the mask over your nose and it sends nitrous and oxygen into you and it helps you relax!. Good luck!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
Maybe a little sore, but it's more likely that side of your mouth will just be numb for a while after they're done!.
