Question: Do i have to get my jaw broke w/ braces!?
So awhile ago i went to a orthidonist and they told me that they wanted to break my jaw and rewire it to fix my overbit and give me braces!. I want the braces but do i have to have my jaw broke to get them because i am not doing that!. My overbite is fine with me my profile is not messed up or anything because of it!? That sounds odd to get your jaw broken just so they can fix your overbite!. You should seek a second opinion from an Oral surgeon or If you're happy with your overbite!. Why subject yourself to the pain and torment of getting your jaw broken!.
I would tell them "No" !. This is ultimately your choice

Sometimes, malocclussion has two options for treatment, Orthodontics and Surgery, and sometimes both!. But its really up to you if you want to consent!. Best of luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sometimes they do, sometimes they dont!. They just think it would be BETTER if they did!. Ask for just braces but not the jaw breaking!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
they put an appliance in my sons braces for an extra year to fix his overbite they didnt have to break his jaw!.He has been in braces for 3 years nowWww@Answer-Health@Com
