How painful is it to get a wisdom tooth that isn't impacted pulled?!

Question: How painful is it to get a wisdom tooth that isn't impacted pulled!?
Ok, so one of my wisdom teeth has come in!. Its the top on in the right of my mouth!. Its been there for about a year now, and has bothered me on and off!. I recently noticed that it has broken off!. One side of it is still there, but another has chipped and there is just a pointy edge!. Its really bothering me now, that whole side of my mouth aches and every now and again I get a sharp pain going through it! I made an appointment to get in removed but Im really scared! I don't have dental insurance, I have medicare and I did find one dentist that takes it! (thank god) I have no clue if he gives laughing gas or not I certainly hope so as I get very anxious when I go to the dentist! So my question is I don't think its impacted, at least its not all the way, because it is sticking out!. Is it gonna hurt!? Ive heard horror stories!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

The actual extraction should be painless or almost so - you'll either have novocain or be asleep, depending on your dentist!. If you have novocain, you'll feel pressure!. If you're asleep you won't feel anything!.

But the healing process!.!.!. figure a few days!. It should hurt for about 24 hours!. Not terribly, but your dentist will prescribe something, usually Tylenol with codeine!. Take it if you need it - some people do, some people don't!. Change the gauze when it gets bloody, and rinse with salt water (not mouthwash)!.

You should be fine in a day or two!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My wisdom teeth were impacted and I had them removed!. I had an injection and I didn't feel a thing!.

Good Luck To You :-)Www@Answer-Health@Com

getting it pulled u wont feel pain only pressure and the healing prosess is very painfull but it only lasts 2-3 days for me i got a dry blood clot so it took me about a week and a half to fully heal just make sure u dont eat anything the day of, only drink lots of fluids and the next two days eat spft food such as mashed potatos, yogurt, apple sause and so on also your surgen might give u pain killers if not take two advils when you need it!. good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Mine were impacted, ALL FOUR OF THEM!. You don't feel a thing while they're doing it!. They gave me medicine and put me to sleep and i had no clue they were even doing the procedure!. Yes, i did hurt extremely bad the first day or two!. But then you get used to it!. It was awful but i also had 4 impacted, my mom had one out that was impacted and she was fine, so if yours isn't even impacted, i wouldn't worry too much, its like getting a regular tooth pulled!. I know how you feel though!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
