If it was just the other day, yes!. The inside of the mouth is very tender and in certain spots inside the mouth the injection hurts worse than others!. Whether it's upper vs lower, front or back quadrant has different muscles they have put the needle through!.

In some cases they can even hit near the nerve when they do the injection (rare, but happened to my sister), but they can't help that!.

Give it time, it will heal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is not that the dentist hit the nerve - this would give you the feeling of an electric shock!.
It is that dental injections are intramuscular, and bruising of the muscle is inevitable!. Sometimes the dentist may accidentally hit a vein and cause more bleeding into the tissues than normal!.
Like all bruising, it will go away in a few days!. Take ibuprofen if needed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

hiting a nerve can cause pain afterwards, but it is inevitable just depends on were your nerve is at!. Also a BIG thing is to move your jaw around after getting injections!. You probably did not move it much so now it is stiff and tender, next time exersize it so it wont hurt so much later!. A good exersize is placing your palm under your lower jaw and force your jaw open while pushing with your palm!. that makes your jaw work to get itself open and helps out the muscles from getting stiff!.
hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, this happened to me a year or so ago and it took about two weeks to return to normal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
