Answers:
If you are exempt from dental fees than the dentist must follow strict guidelines from the Benefits agencies, so therefore white fillings instead of amalgam fillings would not be allowed, they may file your teeth down if they were causing you distress but would be on the dentists approval/advice!. I think caps & crowns are much the same thing!.hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com

You can't get the white fillings on the NHS!. (I asked!) The silver ones are standard!. I'm sure if your long canine teeth are bothering you they might do that one!. A cap and a crown are really the same thing!. A crown tends to be more permanent!. Funny enough you can get a gold crown on the NHS (I would have thought silver caps would have been cheaper)

It never hurts to ask though!. Just tell your dentist you honestly don't know the answers and were just wondering!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Are you in the UK!?

My mother in law has been told she can have silver for free, but has to pay 90 pounds plus for white fillings as they are "cosmetic"!.

What a rip off!
So, tragically, you can't have this done on the NHS, as she is too!

EDIT: I believe you can pay for them as a one off, and still be an NHS patient, I just think it should be the same price as silver fillings!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'd doubt it my dear!.
My teeth are worse than most peoples' in the third world, which is a disgrace to the NHS, and something that I have contributed toward in over 20 years in work!.
You don't get much for free here unless you're an immigrant!.!.!.
And I most certainly am not!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, I am afraid this would be considered purely cosmetic and therefore not within the remit of the NHS!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i wouldnt think so as it would be deemed to be a cosmetic procedure!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
