It is true that the high sugar gums are not good for your teeth!. If you were to chew one piece all day there would be positive effects but that gets hard on you jaw and lets face it it doesn't taste any good after 15 min!. Gum without the sugar is good because it increases saliva in you mouth and the saliva kills bad bacteria!. To get an even better result from gum you should chew a gum containing Xylitol!.

Xylitol is a magic bullet for dental health!. Xylitol works on the bacteria that cause dental decay, mainly Mutans streptococci (MS)!. Acid environment is an ideal atmosphere for the germs that cause decay!. The acid dissolves the calcium/phosphorous matrix that makes up enamel, breaking the molecular bond between them!. If there's fluoride floating by, the calcium and phosphorus bind together with a molecule of fluoride and form another unit, stronger than the other!. It's more difficult to break this match made in chemistry!. If there's no fluoride nearby, the essential elements of enamel float free, leaving a microscopic void in the tooth!. As more bonds break free, the void becomes bigger, the bacteria take up residence and soon the mechanical actions of mastication and mindless tooth brushing cannot remove the biofilm growing there!.

I chew gum all day especially after meals!. I prefer Trident Minty!

Here's the good and bad about chewing gum!. Chewing sugar free gum (and only sugar free) a little while after you eat will cause your mouth to water and saliva kills bacteria in your mouth, so it helps get rid of more bacteria after you eat!. The bad thing about chewing gum is that it pulls on your fillings and makes them loose over time!.

And although I know this first hand, gum is still my biggest weakness!. Ugh! I'll chew gum every now and then, but I only chew sugar free gum and chew more towards the front of my mouth instead of the back!. I usually chew Orbit or Stride because it's not too firm and not too sticky, so although it'll still pull on my fillings, I can feel good about choosing a better gum!.

But, remember!. A gum is no good if it's not sugar free!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It depends on what type of gum!. If you get sugar free, then it is good for your teeth because it cleans them!. If it has sugar (bubble gum) then its bad for your teeth!.
I like trident whitening the best because it has added calcium and is dentist approved!. It helps clean and whiten your teeth!. I chew two pieces at least twice a day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ok, first of all, through away your sugar gum!!!! You need to get Orbit!. It has zero sugar, and is recommended by the ADA (american dental association)!. Try it, they have So many flavors! Just don't ever get raspberry! It's horrible! For a weird flavor but a good flavor, get maui melon mint! It crazy! You'll just have to try it! I can't explain it! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
