What temporary relief can I get from a toothache till I see a dentist on Monday?!

Question: What temporary relief can I get from a toothache till I see a dentist on Monday!?
I have a toothache under a crown that I just got on this summer!. I went to call my dentist, only to find that he is out of town till Monday (it's Saturday)!. His answering machine says to call his brother who is also a dentist, but he doesn't have practicing hours on weekends!. My tooth is aching and I have considered going to the ER where they will probably only give me an antibiotic and a pain killer!.
Ok!. I have an expired Amoxicillin (expired a little over year) and some Lortab from when my daughter had her wisdom teeth extracted!. If I go to the ER, I will have at least a three hour wait and a $50 co-pay for something I am going to get taken care of on Monday!.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I would go ahead and take the lortab for the pain if it's unbearable!. If you run out of the lortab, take some aleve or motrin!.

It wouldnt hurt to go head and take the amoxicillin, either!. If there's an infection, the doctor won't be able to repair the tooth and will prescribe a couple days of amoxicillin before he works on the tooth!.

At Wal-Green's or another pharmacy, there's some over the counter medication that you can apply to the tooth and gum area!. It's a temporary, quick fix, though!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am in the same situation!. I have two teeth that are killing me and I can't get in to see the doc until Tuesday!. I was told to take IB profun every 3-4 hours!. The ib Profun will help with the pain as well as the swelling!. If the pain can not be controlled by ib profun, take the loratab! But I wouldn't take the antibiotic, because you do not know if the pain is from an infection!Www@Answer-Health@Com

take the lortab but dont tell your dentist its illegal to switch users!. Its a STRONG pain killerWww@Answer-Health@Com

FYI!.
ADVIL 2-3 PILLS EVERY 4-6 HOURS WILL LESSEN THE PAIN TILL A DENTIST CAN SEE YOUWww@Answer-Health@Com
