never heard of an orthordontist drilling holes in your teeth!. are you sure he wasnt joking around!?
braces dont hurt when they put them on!. your mouth might ache a little bit, as your mouth is spread open for a long period of time!.!.!.and hour at the most!.
braces hurt a few hours after they have been put on and tightened!. usually it only hurts for 3 days!.
i recommend you take tylenol, advil, or ibiprofen before you go!. take it every 4 hours!. if you keep taking it every 4 hours, it will get into your system and it wont hurt as bad!.
every appoinment, they tighten them and it will hurt!.
and use wax to prevent sores from forming!.
if sores start to form, use vinagear!. take a cotton swab, dip it in some vinagear and dap it on your sore!. do it before bed and it will be gone in 2 days tops!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well i have braces and they didn't drill any holes in me!. so either your dentist is trying to be funny or you are getting something else in your braces!.
Braces hurt for the first week or so, use the wax they give you to prevent your lips from getting torn!. Also take some sort of pain killer
FYI after you get them tightened ever month they might hurt but not all the time

Im sorry to say but yeah they do hurt!. It doesn't hurt getting them on it just hurts after wards!. The first week after you have them, your in alot of pain!. Make sure you keep some kind of pain reliever in you and dont let it get out of your system!. Also i would advise you to eat mashed potatoes, jello, pudding and etc!. (soft foods) for the first week or two!. Good Luck getting them, and dont worry you'll be really glad when you get them off!. Your teeth will look gorgeous! Wow, i would be scared to, hopefully they don't have to drill holes in ur teeth!.!. they didn't for me, braces hurt like less than a week when u first get them *take pain meds!.* than every tightening they hurt the next day and that's about it!.

well for the first week or so they hurt!.After that they don't really hurt!. If they still do after the first week or so tell your dentist and he will do something about it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Oh yes they do hurt especially at first!. And after regular visits be careful when you eat because they will be sore a day or two!. I used to take Tylenol before my appointments to help with the pain!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
