I don't know what it's called, but any good orthodontist will know what you are talking about!.
If you've tried everything else without success, I recommend you try this!.
My daughter wore one for about a year!. As I recall, it cost about $600!. It stopped the spread of her front teeth, and it stopped the habit!. As her permanent teeth came in and her jaw developed, it worked out so that she did not have to have any further orthodontic work done (this was not promised to us with the appliance, but an extra benefit that happened to work in her favor!) So the $600 investment saved us $1000's that we would probably have ended up spending on braces later!.
It doesn't hurt at all or interfere significantly with talking or eating--just stops the suction and pleasant sensation from thumb-sucking and therefore takes the fun out of it!.

well my brother sucks his thumb and hes 19 but its this stuff that you can buy call suck nomore(sounds dumb but my brother is gettin beter with it!.!.!.!.
