As a pediatric dental assistant, I stuff kid's mouths with fluoride everyday!. Usually, they barf on me!. I have to ask, why do we do it!?!?
For kids, it's important to toughen up their candy eating, never brushing, little teeth!. After they grow up, it stops being really beneficial!. Insurance stops covering the fluoride treatments around 14!.
It's a touchy subject because they pour it into our drinking water, but it's been linked to illnesses like Alzheimer's disease, bone brittleness and thyroid problems!. Fluoride, as a chemical, has been used in foreign prisons to sedate the patients!. (high dosage)
The concept to learn here, too much = bad!.
