Is mouthwash (like Listerine etc.) safe?!

Question: Is mouthwash (like Listerine etc!.) safe!?
I have been using mouthwash (Listerine, Dentalux or Colgate) twice a day for 5-6 consecutive years!. I was wondering if using mouthwash every day for many years could have any side effect!. Like killing "good" (if any) germs or mouth cancer!. Is there any research!?

Thanks

Just went to a seminar today about dental medicines!. In the upcoming December edition of Australian Dental Journal there will be an article of a link between the alcohol content of mouthwashes and causation of oral cancer, particularly if you are also a smoker!. Alcohol does not KILL cancer, it can CAUSE it!.
It will really annoy manufacturers of Listerine and many others, but the facts are there!. It may even lead to the retraction of the Seal of Approval by dental associations!.
If you brush and floss, then you don't need a mouthwash, and there is no indication for the high alcohol content they contain, usually about 16-20%!. It's like swilling your mouth with Scotch!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well thank you!. Thank you very, very much! I use mouthwash twice a day and have done so merrily with a bit of a skip in my step and I leave the bathroom, reet and complete dental Hygiene wise!. Or so I thought!. Now I can lie awake tonight, happily mulling over my certain imminent death from a rare and exotic oral cancer which will mystify medical science until they finally make the link between my tragic demise and Listerine!. The dentist told me that it is full of sugar and therefore, not particularly useful for preventing teeth decay!. I am not sure about mouth cancer!. There are other brands avaialble that taste gross, but are actually 100 times more effective!. look carefully in boots alongside the fancy pants bottles, to the less alluring brands!. they are better!Www@Answer-Health@Com

mouth wash is safe and it does kill "bad" germs in your mouth, however mouthwashes with alcohol can cause your mouth to become dry, making you more susceptible to tooth decayWww@Answer-Health@Com
